Alauterio Ntegyereize
Legal Officer - Besides working with the RLP, Alauterio is an advocate of the High Court of Uganda. He is involved in providing legal representation and legal advice to Refugees from Nakivale and Oruchinga Refugee Settlement Camps in Isingiro District, Western Uganda. He represents Refugees in Courts of Law, follows up their cases at Police and Prisons. He also provides legal advice to walk-in clients at Office and is responsible for organizing mobile legal aid clinics in the Refugee Settlements. Prior to joining RLP, Ntegyereize practised law with M/s Ntambirweki Kandeebe & Co. Advocates in Kampala-Uganda and also taught law on part-time basis at Grotius School of Law, Uganda Pentecostal University, Kampala Campus. He also served as the Assistant Manager of the Legal Informatics Centre at the School of Law, Makerere University Kampala from 2007 to 2009. Ntegyereize also worked with Maganjo Grain Millers, Kawempe as an Accounts Assistant from 2004 to 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons) from Makerere University Kampala, where he represented the University at the Eighth Annual International Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law at Arusha, Tanzania in 2008 and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice of the Law Development Centre. He also holds a Diploma in Financial Services and Business Computing (DFB) from Makerere University Business School, with a specialty in Financial Services. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society. Ntegyereize is an ardent researcher and is following closely the East African Community Integration process. He is a Research Associate with the Advocates Coalition for Development and Environment (ACODE). Ntegyereize has particular interest in International Humanitarian Law, Refugee and Immigration Law, East African Community Law, Constitutionalism and Good Governance, International Law and Human Rights Law, Trade Law and Policy and Environmental Law and Policy.
