On the 5th International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, RLP’s Director, Dr Chris Dolan, was invited by Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice in the Hague to make a presentation by video as part of the “Call It What It Is” campaign. This video looks at why it is important to ‘Call It What It Is’, as well as the challenges of doing so. It also proposes that we define sexual violence in three distinct ways: 1) as ‘acts of a sexual nature’ 2) as acts that target the victims’ sexuality, sexual identity or sexual orientation, and 3) as acts that IMPACT on the victims’ sexuality, sexual identity or sexual orientation.
